Frequently Asked Questions

As I receive questions and comments from others, I'll update this page. I'll post questions and my answers if the topic seems to be one that I think many people would be interested in knowing the answer to, or knowing my position on.

Many questions you may have about my background, education, employment, qualifications and educator experience are answered on the About Rob page. The Why MCPS? page has information on why I'm running for a trustee position on the school board, and the issues with the current trustee. If you still have a question after reviewing the rest of this site, feel free to send me a message on the Contact Rob page - I'm happy to chat with you!

Missoula County Elections

When is the MCPS school board trustee election this year?

The election is on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Regular school elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May of each year (source, p. 6 ). Polls close at 8:00pm, or when the last person in line at 8:00pm votes.

How can I register to vote, or check that I'm registered?

You need to register to vote prior to the day of the election. You can use these links to register to vote or check that you are registered prior to the election.

If you are registering late (within 29 days of the election, i.e. now), you can register until noon the day before the election at the Missoula County Elections Center (located at 140 N Russell St in Missoula, near the Pink Grizzly and about a block east of Westside Lanes). Visit the Missoula County Elections website for voter registration requirements.

Will the election be conducted by mail this year?

Yes. The election on May 3, 2022 will be an all-mail election. If you're registered to vote in Missoula County, you should receive a ballot at your registered address. See the topic above for registration information.

How can I find my polling place?

Since the election will be by mail, you don't need to go to a polling place. If you need to appear in person to pick up or return a ballot, you can do so at the Missoula County Elections Center, which is located at 140 N Russell St in Missoula.

I have other questions about the local elections.
